Diabetes and loss of hair does not seem to have a co-relation but diet and hair fall definitely has.First rule out the presence of any medical problem like dandruff or fungal infection and keep your diabetes under control.
Hair is made of a protein called keratin — one of the toughest tissues in the body — so diets deficient in protein can result in fine hair that’s prone to breaking. Most of us eat enough protein but some fatty and extreme diets may be low in this nutrient.Mean-while,hair loss may indicate anaemia,a condition caused by a lack of iron but may also be because of deficiency of a vitamin called biotin.
If you don’t want to gain weight, avoid fatty diets and instead opt for a reduced calorie, balanced diet that includes protein rich foods like meat, fish, eggs and low fat dairy products. To boost iron, eat lean red meat, oil rich fish, bread, green leafy vegetables, peas, lentils, beans, dried fruit, eggs and fortified breakfast cereals. To up your intake of biotin, eat more pulses, nuts, whole grains, eggs and low fat dairy products.

If your hair loss is caused by type 2 diabetes, then your hair should grow back once you get your blood sugar under control. If it doesn’t happen at first don’t be discouraged. If you’re overweight then at first the diet and exercise may not keep your blood sugar levels stable enough to stop the hair loss. But once you become more fit and/or lose some weight it should stop. And it should also start to grow back. Also, try to get a new hairstyle that makes your hair loss less obvious. I can’t tell if you’re male or female so this may not work for you … when I was having this problem my hair was very long, down to the small of my back, which made the hair loss really obvious. But then I had it cut to a little past my shoulders and then you couldn’t tell at all.

Type 2 diabetes can be reversible if one is in a healthy weight and has a user friendly diet. I’d talk to your physician or a dietitian on that aspect. They can give you a user friendly type of outline to follow.
The key factor in reducing and/or reversing some diabetes symptoms in this is being an ideal weight.

This way the body produces the insulin it needs and isn’t overworked otherwise and lacking that later.

I know in what I’ve heard that the focus can be on protein and lack of sugar added in foods. It does no good to have the sugar level spike up and make matters irregular to cause problems for the body.

I would check a medical site if you don’t want to go over this with a doctor or it’s pricey to go to one.
Good, reliable ones I’ve seen have been http://www.webmd.com. Type in diabetes in the search bar at the top of their main page. They list symptoms to home remedy treatments.
