let x be number of checks written
let y be monthly cost

plan 1
y=0.30x

plan 2
y = 2.4 + 0.18x

the break even point is when y1 = y2, so

0.30x = 2.4 +0.18x
0.12x = 2.4
x=20

so at 20 checks, the plans will cost same, any checks above that will be cheaper with plan 2.
Answer is A. more than 20

A. More than 20 checks
The Accucheck plan would cost less than the anywhere plan more than 20 checks, the point when they both reach 20 checks, as long as it is in one month period, they will be even. After that, the Accucheck plan will start to cost less and less.
here
Accucheck: 20 days= 600 cents       30 x 20 = 600
Anywhere Plan: 20 days = 600 cents    240 + 18 (20) = 600
That is how I got it, hope it helps! : )
