If you have unavoidable bills you can’t afford to pay…what do u do?

<< My Health Questions... Please help me haha?  Problems with diabetes and school? >>

I mean unavoidables such as the following:

1) Prescription drugs you need to avoid a fatal illness (i.e. insulin shots for diabetes), or you will die

2) Essential repair for a computer you need for your trade or business, you need it for your work

3) Registration renewal fee for your automobile license (without it you cannot commute to work)

4) Food and groceries

5) Basic Utilities

6) A Black suit (you must present yourself at meetings for your job and your boss previously criticized you for your sloppy dress, warning if you don’t wear the proper attire next meeting, you will be let go)

7) You have a child with an ear infection

8) Your basic clothing is 3 years due for a dry cleaning.

9) Your girlfriend’s birthday is coming up next week and she wants a 2-carat diamond ring with 18-carat gold setting, or else she’ll leave you

If you have these kinds of expenses and so many of these you can’t count, what do you do?

Which order would you pay these bills in? Which wouldn’t you pay?
10) Your friend has been on welfare for 4 years exactly, and now the welfare is ending and he needs cash from you or he’ll be on the street

    Republicans have a couple answers ;

We need to spend every penny on fighting never ending wars.

That every foreign nation we rebuild is more important than rebuilding America.

China will keep picking up our debt.

And best of all get the Pres. Bush debt plan "Keep it off budget." And no one ever questioned his deficits like they do pres. Obama. pres. Bush did not have 1 defict neutral plan.

I doubt there is very many people on this website right now that don’t have a ton bills to pay all the time.
I think most of us work as hard as we can and try to live within our means so that we can cover these sorts of bills.

    Brianna's Mommy Says:

Well, I would be getting a second job or seeing if someone would lend me the cash. A pay day loan would be my last resort, but I would avoid this at all cost, because the interest is outrageous on these. Then, I would pay the bills in this order:

    1) Although I’m in Canada, so it would be a lot cheaper. Plus, you can usually apply for some sort of supplement to help you out with this.
    4) You need food to live
    5) Where I live, you wouldn’t be able to live without heat during the winter.
    3) I am in a place where I can’t be without a vehicle…although you can usually get away with being a bit late on this one as long as you avoid accidents in the meantime. I’ve unknowingly done it before.

    7) is non-applicable where I live, because I can see the doctor for free and medication for the ear infection would not be pricey.

As for 2) my husband is a computer technician, so I have that one covered.

    6) can be borrowed from a friend until you can afford your own.
    8) can be taken care of with Dryel or the right cycle on your washing machine/dryer. I do it all the time.
    9) should be dumped if all she cares about is a ring.

As an aside, when I was in university, I had to make these sorts of decisions all the time, because I was living off of less than $500 per month. I got food from my mom whenever I visited her and lived off of whatever she could spare. I got 2 credit cards and eventually ended up maxing them out. I eventually opted to work and go to school at the same time, and got a job that worked well with my school schedule. I also ended up moving in with 3 other people to reduce my rent, food, and utility bills.
