I will have my last meal before 9pm in the night and will not take anything after this. Early morning I will just have a glass of water and take the reading with the accucheck meter at 7am. After half an hour I will go to the medical laboratory near my home and take the test there. Compare both the results. For sure I believe the results should be the same with only half an hour gap between them.

Am I correct in my thoughts about the above?? Please advise.

I follow the normal diet of fish, vegetables, brown bread (bakery product), green apple. Once in a week I do eat either chicken, mutton or beef.

Early morning on empty stomach, I do drink water of fenugreek seeds soaked overnight.

I do treadmill for 30 minutes five days a week.

I have lost 6 kilos of bodyweight due to exercise and totally avoiding aerated drinks and cookies in the last two months after being diagnosed as a diabetic.

Do I still need to monitor my glucose?? I feel my vision is not that proper. Otherwise I do not feel any real discomfort.

Please advise. I am living in Dubai and we get Accucheck glucose meters here. Are these okay.

Please answer to avoid the confusion in my mind.

He doesn't feel nauseas or anything, not even lightheaded.

So, how can his blood sugar be so high every day and he not feel sick? I mean should we really worry? or is everyone different? thanks for reading.

My Dr isn’t worried, but that also means he can’t send me to a specialist until I’ve hit at least pre-diabetes fasting numbers. My mom’s diabetes was caught early and has been 9+ years under control with diet alone – no meds or injections. I can only hope to be so lucky! So I’d like to get a better handle on what is happening and test more often, but as you could guess by my name I worry about having a lot of puncture wounds on my hands. (My reptiles are all ok, but if I have to handle someone else’s… that’s a lot of bandaids or worry about infections.) My new meter came with alternative site testing info and I’m not very good at it, but I’ve been trying my arm. Since I am just looking for trends and sudden drops, would it be ok to just test on my arm? Has anyone tested to see the difference between alternative sites and finger tests?

The meter makes it sound so “bad” to test there, but then tells you how! Very confusing! I have an AccuCheck if that matters.

my levels all day are well below 140, but my fasting level, first thing in the morning, is as high as 138, averages 120.

i dont understand why.

i work nights, awake from11AM till 2AM. eat at 3PM and5 PM. i used to have a bagel or something light at 9PM. i stopped that.

can something i ate at 5PM cause my level to rise too high at 11AM the next day?

if so, does anyone have a link to foods i should avoid? i already know ice cream before bed will cause a high reading, but can ice cream at 5 PM still cause a high reading at 11AM?

it is hot where i live right now, when i wake up my bed room is hot, can that cause m sugar to rise? the heat?

would exercise before bed lower the fasting rate? burn off sugar?

does anyone have any suggestions for lowering the fasting level?

thanks everyone, im new at this and i know many of you have been dealing with this all your lives
im not on any meds, go back to the doc with the results next Friday. so if i need meds, it will happen then.
